1. Increase vehicle ride height without changing the spring rate or ride comfort -These lifts sit on top of the coil spring or strut assembly and do not require replacing the spring itself, preserving factory ride quality.
2. Maintain factory suspension geometry as much as possible- Preloaded collars compress the existing spring slightly, which can raise the front end (commonly used for leveling kits) without drastically affecting control arm angles or CV axles.
3. Achieve front-end leveling-Especially common in trucks and SUVs where the front is lower than the rear from the factory (known as rake). A preloaded collar lift is often used to level the stance of the vehicle.
4. Add lift for slightly larger tires- When you just need a modest increase in clearance to fit upsized tires, a preload spacer can be an effective, lower-cost solution.
Cautions:
-Not ideal for extreme off-road setups or heavy-duty applications without other suspension upgrades.
